Sponsor a Bunny

MHRR is offering a chance to "Sponsor A Bunny" - a great way to donate to a specific bun in need of help, or just to give towards your favorite organization in the name of a super-cute rabbit!

Here are the levels of bunny sponsorship:

Peanut Butter - $5
A Peanut Butter Bunny sponsorship will pay for two "Bunny Baskets," which are cute baskets (bunny-safe, for bun to chew up and play with!) filled with the bun's current food, hay, and a toy. Each adopted bunny goes home with a Bunny Basket.
Caramel - $10
A Caramel Bunny sponsorship will pay for one week's worth of fresh vegetables, or two new large waterbottles. With 30+ rabbits, waterbottles get worn out quickly!
Chocolate - $25
A Chocolate Bunny sponsorship will buy two 50lb bags of pellets. We go through about 6lbs of pellets per day, or a 50lb sack every week or two!
White Chocolate - $50
A White Chocolate Bunny sponsorship will purchase a 50lb bale of the freshest Oxbow Timothy hay, direct from the manufacturer. A single bale usually lasts one month before the rabbits have it completely gone!

Also, please visit our Sponsor-A-Snip page to get a bunny spayed or neutered!

For each sponsorship, you or your group will receive a certificate with your name and a picture of your sponsored bunny. Sponsorships are great gifts for animal lovers, cool projects for scout troops, or just a great way to help out animals in your community. To sponsor a bunny here at the rescue, please email us with your name, the name of the bunny you want to sponsor, and the level of sponsorship. Payment can be made by either a check or Paypal.

There are many reasons why MHRR and rescue groups need financial help.
* Food is the number one daily expense. With an average of 30 rabbits, we dish out 7-8 McDonald's medium cups (about 8lb) of pellets per day, plus hay and vegetables.
* Second (in most cases) is vet care. Neutering helps greatly increase each rabbit's desirability, though we can't always afford it for each rabbit as they come in - especially when entire litters arrive together! After one neutered rabbit is adopted, the extra adoption fee for that rabbit goes towards neutering another. The more neutered rabbits available, the greater chance of adoption!
* Water bottles break, cages rust, and hideaways get chewed up. These items must be replaced as needed, though thankfully many are donated as rabbits are surrendered.
* "Extras" such as fundraiser items (before they are sold), display boards for presentations, and exercise pens for events are some costs that most people don't think of for a rescue group. These items are not covered by adoption fees - they are funded strictly through donations.
